JFI Boom Lifts
Equipment
offered by auctions may look like a great deal, but often they do not
disclose product defects or the poor quality of workmanship that went
into its reconditioning.
Shooting boom forklifts have
recently gained popularity among rough terrain and boom lift
manufacturers. These lifts are a combination of a forklifts lift power
and a boom lifts flexibility, enabling it to effectively lift train
cabs, trailers, and a wide variety of large objects. These hybrid lifts
are manufactured by such companies as Gradall, Skytrack (Sky Trak), and
Lull.
The main manufacturer of these hybrid lifts is Sky Trak. The Sky Trak
6034 is just one of its hybrid models, using the field tested Koehring
"shooting boom" principle to position heavy loads up, over, out and
down. The 6034 also incorporates a rear axle locking differential which
gives it positive traction in all types of conditions. This model also
features a front axle oscillation lock to ensure stability. This lock is
automatically set when the boom is extended. The operation levers on the
6034 are foot pedals that move in the same direction as the boom and
carriage, adding to its ease of use.
There are many different ways to purchase used boom forklifts, including
a licensed dealer, the product manufacturer, or private sellers. While
it many be less expensive to purchase your lift from a private seller or
auction, it is also riskier. With a private seller there is no guarantee
as to the quality and condition of what you are purchasing.
Equipment offered by auctions may look like a great deal, but often they
do not disclose product defects or the poor quality of workmanship that
went into its reconditioning. Do your research and make sure you are
very familiar with any model you are purchasing at an auction, this way
you can evaluate it yourself prior to purchase.
