Snorkel has also
reorganized their parts department, making ordering simpler and reducing
product costs by up to half in some cases.
As is the case with any heavy
equipment brand, there are a variety of locations where you can purchase
Snorkel parts. The first place many people look to is the product
manufacturer. The downside of purchasing your parts from the
manufacturer is that you will pay a fairly hefty retail price. Another
place people go to get replacement parts is a licensed dealer. One
upside to using a licensed dealer is that they may also be able to
install your part for you to repair your lift.
Sometimes people try to repair their lifts with secondhand or
reconditioned parts, which can be a very risky move. While you could end
up saving a lot of money, you should research your supplier carefully so
that you don’t end up buying worthless parts.
Snorkel has recently crossed the cost/quality divide by announcing the
creation of its boom reconditioning program, a program designed to give
Snorkel products a much longer life. This new business division is
headed by a veteran Snorkel employee, and has already been given a
contract through a national equipment rental company to recondition
their fleet of telescoping and articulating booms. Under this new
business division the reconditioning work is completed by very qualified
Snorkel technicians. To help companies keep their lifts operation,
financing for the reconditioning work is sometimes available.
Besides this new business division, Snorkel has also reorganized their
parts department, making ordering simpler and reducing product costs by
up to half in some cases. The employees in the parts department all have
a least 10 years experience with Snorkel products, and are committed to
quality, efficient service. All of these things combined should ensure
that Snorkel retains its worldwide dominance in the heavy equipment
industry.
